1. About This Service

This website provides a directory of home adaptation installers and DFG grant information for 84 UK towns. We are a directory service, not an installer, contractor, or government body.

2. Disclaimer

We do not endorse or guarantee any installer listed on this site. Listings are compiled from publicly available data sources including council websites, Home Improvement Agency registries, and manufacturer directories. Users should conduct their own due diligence before engaging any installer.

3. DFG Information

DFG grant information is provided for informational purposes only and is sourced from official council publications. Grant eligibility, amounts, and processing times may change. Always verify current details with your local council.

4. Installer Listings and Evidence

Service areas, claimed listings, paid placement, DFG experience and council approval are separate. A claimed listing means the business has completed our claim process. A listing, paid plan or HIA/manufacturer relationship does not establish council approval.

DFG experience — evidence reviewed means we have checked attributable evidence of relevant grant-funded work for the stated business and services. It does not establish current council approval.

Council approval verified means we have reviewed current council-origin evidence explicitly confirming approval of the named business under the stated scheme and for the stated services. The council, scope and review dates appear alongside the claim. Inclusion on a register, framework or directory is not automatically approval.

We review evidence again by its expiry date or within 12 months of verification, whichever is earlier. An expired, overdue, revoked or superseded record does not support a current verified claim. Changes to the business, services or source status may require an earlier review.

Not verified means current council approval has not been established by our evidence review. It does not mean the council has rejected the business. Verification is not a guarantee of workmanship or approval of your individual grant application. Confirm your own grant arrangements with your council before commissioning work.

Evidence reviews record the source, relevant dates, scope, reviewer and decision privately. Please provide redacted evidence without resident names, addresses, medical information or grant-reference numbers. Payment does not affect verification.

5. Paid Subscriptions

Featured and Premium provide listing visibility and features. The Premium listing badge identifies a paid plan; it is not a verification badge. Evidence checks and council-approval status are independent of your subscription.

Featured (£29/month) and Premium (£59/month) listings are recurring subscriptions billed monthly via Stripe. You may cancel at any time from your Stripe billing portal — access continues until the end of your current billing period. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase. To request a refund within this period, email hello@saferathome.co.uk.

6. User Conduct

Users must not submit false enquiries, scrape data from the site, or use the service for any unlawful purpose.

7. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of this directory, including but not limited to work carried out by listed installers. Our maximum liability is limited to the fees paid by you for use of our services.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
